Rec Registration 2025-2026
This league is designed for recreational play, offering young athletes an opportunity to develop skills in a low-pressure, team-oriented setting. Teams are matched by grade level to promote fair competition and age-appropriate play. Operating under an in-house format, the league emphasizes equal playing time for all participants, fostering a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment where every player can grow, contribute, and enjoy the game.
Ages
Teams are organized by grade to ensure age-appropriate play and development.
When
Season typically begins in November and ends in February.
Practice and Game Locations
Practices are held at one of the Cloquet School facilities.
From 3rd to 6th grade, teams will play six to seven Saturdays, with games taking place at locations ranging from Two Harbors to Hinckley.
Practices
Practice frequency varies by grade level. Kindergarten–1st grade teams typically practice once a week on Saturdays. 2nd–6th grade teams may have up to two practices per week, scheduled at the coach’s discretion.
Games
Kindergarten–2nd grade teams focus on practices to build basketball fundamentals and do not play formal games. Game schedules for 3rd–6th grade teams are determined by coaches typically held on the weekends.
Jerseys
The CYBA offers jerseys to purchase for $30 during the registration process. It is encouraged for all players to purchase a jersey. You do not need to purchase a jersey every year, as CYBA tries to keep the style fairly similar from year to year.

Registration is open from September 24 to October 8
Kindergarten–3rd Grade practices will typically be held at Washington Elementary School.
4th–6th Grade practices times and locations will be set at the coach’s discretion. Coaches will share details directly with players and parents after registration closes.
