Cloquet Travel Teams 2026-27
The Cloquet travel team program is designed for players with advanced basketball skills who are ready to compete at a higher level of play. These teams face strong competition and represent Cloquet in weekend tournaments throughout the season.
The Cloquet Travel Program is a rewarding opportunity for dedicated players to grow their skills, build lasting friendships, and represent our community with pride.
Games
Teams typically compete in 6–8 weekend tournaments each season.
Despite the name “Travel,” most events are within the region — not every weekend involves a trip to the metro area. Past tournament locations have included: Esko, Proctor, Hermantown, Duluth, Northwestern, Solon Springs, and Siren.
Some teams choose to participate in the Minnesota Grade State Tournament in the Twin Cities area, offering players a chance to compete against the best in the state.
This is based off of Coaches discretion.
Playing Philosophy
While coaches work hard to distribute playing time as fairly as possible, equal minutes are not guaranteed on travel teams. The nature of competitive basketball means that certain game situations may require different player rotations. Coaches make these decisions thoughtfully, with the goal of balancing player development, team success, and sportsmanship.
Key factors that can influence playing time include:
- Game Score and Situation
- Practice Attendance
- Attitude and Sportsmanship
- Effort and Hustle
Our goal is to create an environment where every player grows as an athlete and teammate, while also preparing the team to compete successfully at higher levels.
Where
Practices are typically held at one of the Cloquet facilities. Tournaments, games, and scrimmages are based on Coaches discretion.
Jerseys
Jerseys are an additional cost to the travel registration. If your player needs a jersey, it is recommended that you notify their coach.
